EEBD, SCBA, Immersion Suit and Lifejacket Servicing
Annual Examination of Emergency Escape Breathing Device (EEBD)
As per the IMO Guidelines, indicated in the MSC/Circ. 849, all ships must carry Emergency Escape Breathing Devices (EEBDs) on board. The EEBD should be examined and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Sufficient spare EEBDs should be kept on board to replace units that are used, reach their expiry date, or otherwise become unserviceable.
Maintenance requirements, manufacturer’s trademark and serial number, shelf life with accompanying manufacture date and name of approving authority should be printed on each EEBD.
We have service authorisation from HAIZHOU and ATLANTIC Brand of EEBDs.
Annual Examination of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
The International Convention on Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS '74) Regulations II-2/10.2 and 19.3.6.2, require that breathing apparatus of an approved type be carried in all ships. All SCBAs are required to be examined at least annually as part of the annual statutory survey for the Safety Equipment Certificate (SEC) or MODU Code certificate.
We have service authorisation from HAIZHOU Brand of SCBAs.
Annaul Examination of Immersion Suits
The revised SOLAS regulation III/32.3 (in force from 1st July 2006) requires one Immersion Suit each person to be provided onboard a cargo ship, with additional suits to be provided at work and watch keeping stations which are 'remotely located' from the immersion suits storage locations.
For commercial vessels, immersion suits must be serviced every 3 years. Immersion suits older than 10 years must be serviced more frequently. Requirements can vary from flag state to flag state.
Annual Inspection of Lifejackets
We carry our annual testing of SOLAS approved lifejackets as per the guidelines set by the manufacturers and the SOLAS III Regulation 20 as amended by MSC82.
